LYTT is looking for a Data Scientist to join our team in order to improve the team's workflows and edge computing technology. The APPS team at LYTT is developing solutions for data analysis using data science and machine learning. Edge computing is a key component of LYTT’s technology and enables us to produce real-time insights for our applications in Oil & Gas and beyond.


About the role
LYTT is a SaaS scale-up from that builds technology for Distributed Fiber Optics (DFO) to produce insights about oil wells, water pipes and other applications. The engineering team consists of data science, back-end, dev-ops and front-end teams. All teams work together to “make the invisible, visible”. Our technology is sometimes referred to as the Shazam for Oil and Gas.

The data scientist role involves working closely with many teams in the company on a daily basis. For example:

  • Work with domain experts and data scientists to assess data quality and build predictive models.
  • Collaborate with back-end and dev-ops teams to deploy new models and onboard new data.
  • Work with customer delivery to provide support for live production systems.
  • Present insights from projects to product managers, delivery managers and customers.

We are not able to offer visa sponsorship. The role is remote-first, and you can be based in the UK or Portugal.


Responsibilities:

  • Support team workflows to enable us to deliver projects faster.
  • Build machine learning models for LYTTs application library.
  • Run and further develop LYTTs signal processing and feature extraction technology.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams for live deployments.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Python
  • Experience with acoustic data analysis and signal processing
  • Knowledge of standard data science libraries such as numpy, pandas, matplotlib, scipy.
  • A team player who is eager to learn new things.
