Brilliant Planet has an exciting opening for an IT Officer. The IT Officer will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining the company's IT infrastructure and systems, ensuring that all technology resources are running efficiently and securely. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT, a keen interest in climate tech, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversee and maintain the company's IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and servers.
  • Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to ensure the highest level of security and efficiency.
  • Manage and maintain the Microsoft 365 environment, ensuring smooth operation of OneDrive, SharePoint, and other Microsoft applications.
  • Provide technical helpdesk support and troubleshooting assistance to staff, addressing issues related to hardware, software, and connectivity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and recommend new technologies and tools to support the company's growth and development.
  • Manage and maintain IT asset inventory, including procurement, deployment, and disposal of equipment.
  • Work in close collaboration with the Data Solutions Architect to develop and implement data storage and backup and disaster recovery plans to safeguard critical company information.
  • Coordinate with third-party vendors and service providers for maintenance, support, and troubleshooting.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues to minimize downtime and maintain optimal system functionality.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, integrating new technologies as appropriate.
  • Provide IT training and support to employees, fostering a culture of technological competence and awareness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT hardware, software, and networking systems.
  • Strong understanding of data protection, cybersecurity, and industry best practices.
  • Experience with cloud-based systems and services, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • A passion for climate tech and a commitment to contributing to a sustainable future.
