We are looking for a Junior / Graduate Front End Web Developer to join our growing technical team. This is a great opportunity to help us create and support innovative digital services, including those used by local authorities across the UK that have a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable people within the TechForGood space.

You will be joining an enthusiastic technical team all of whom work remotely. Our back-end tech stack is Ruby on Rails and front-end is Vue.js and you will be reporting in to our Technical Director. As part of our team you will gain coding skills in Vue or you may progress as a full-stack developer.

Some familiarity with website front-end tech would be useful: you may have completed a coding fellowship, or be a recent graduate with an appropriate degree or spent a few months in your first role within a digital or software agency. Equally important to us is a genuine enthusiasm to jump in and learn; to code and to create great digital.

We are offering:

What you'll be doing:

supporting various systems and software including websites, apps and bespoke applications. working through tickets and tasks and ensuring our client services team are up to date with progress. following an agile-based project management methodology with weekly sprints and stand-ups. learning from our skilled, experienced team including significant development of coding skills. testing including picking up skills in automated tests. helping us develop new products and services. gain knowledge and experience in digital accessibility.

We are keen to meet people who:

are able to demonstrate good knowledge and previous use of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. We use Vue and Tailwind. can manage multiple tasks at once, not get flustered, can communicate clearly. have a positive attitude and are ready to get stuck into learning new technologies and skills. are able to work remotely 100% of the time.

Some of the following skills / experience might be an advantage:

completion of a coding fellowship or relevant further education degree / course. knowledge of website accessibility. a portfolio of some work / completed projects. some knowledge of a front-end JS framework such as Vue, React or Angular.
