At Arrival, our team is creating best-in-class electric vehicles using a radical new method of design and production. We work with some of the world's leading businesses and governments to achieve our goal of redefining mobility and transport ecosystems, transforming how people and goods travel and enhancing urban environments for all communities.

Innovation, rapid development and testing help us to push the boundaries. Our New Method takes our portfolio of patented technologies created in-house, and combines it with assembly in Arrival Microfactories. It’s a groundbreaking approach, leading to products with maximum functionality, peak efficiency, and an elevated experience – at a much more competitive price than other electric vehicles, and even fossil fuel vehicles.

Arrival’s CAE team is looking for a Senior/Lead Structural Analysis Engineer (CAE durability) to help deliver the vehicle platforms and products within the Arrival portfolio. The CAE team is a central analysis team at Arrival focusing on vehicle design analysis that includes structural analysis through Finite Element Analysis, vehicle dynamics through multi-body simulation and aero thermal through Computational Fluid Dynamics.

Responsibilities:
Support vehicle program in providing guidance and technical oversight in durability attributes and requirements setting.
Lead the development of FEA models and perform component and vehicle level structural simulations, assessing stiffness, strength, modal, vibration, NVH, fatigue and optimisation analyses.
Lead work packages outsourced to external suppliers, work closely with programme management leads to coordinate and plan work.
Closely work with Digital Engineering teams in automation and computational engineering digital tools.
Validate model inputs and assumptions via experimental data and using grounded first principles.
Drive continuous improvement of methodology and best practices in CAE structural workflows and use automation techniques to speed up the process.
Write reports of key outcomes of analysis and effectively communicate to stakeholders issues and possible improvements in technical meeting and design reviews.
Work closely with CAE colleagues across passive safety, aerothermal and  to ensure design feedback is coherent and consistent

Experience:
5+ Years of professional experience in FEA and structural simulation and analysis and working closely with design engineers, engineering passive safety leads, test engineers, ideally in the automotive industry.
Excellent track record of analysis impacting design improvement by effective collaborations with product/vehicle engineering teams.
Experience in creating FEA models for entire vehicles and running simulations, write technical reports and provide insights to key stakeholders.
Excellent team-worker, who is proactive and has a "startup" attitude
Experience using Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Product Life-cycle Management (PLM) systems.
Masters degree or PhD in Engineering, Maths, Physics, or equivalent STEM subject.
Demonstrated application of first principles knowledge to validate designs and simulations.
Experience in automation, scripting and programming, preferably in Python.
Track record demonstrating creativity and ingenuity.

Experience in vehicle development is not required, but you should be comfortable with the inherent complexities and challenges of engineering, technology, design and discrete manufacturing product development.
If you are ready to change the landscape of mobility as we know it and have an impact across our radical fleet of vehicles, then waste no time in reaching out! We hope to hear from you soon.
