Key role responsibilities include:

    • Own the Linux OS configuration of edge controllers including images, hardening procedures, configurations.
    • Develop new tools, implement processes, provide feedback, and work with other stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement of project execution.
    • Troubleshooting and debugging deployed systems to identify physical/logical/software issues and owning the process from triage through resolution.
    • Network LAN/WAN implementation with switches, router configuration, troubleshooting and debugging.
    • Complete requisite training and professional development activities to stay abreast of industry state-of-the-art tools and best practices. 

What will our ideal candidate bring to Fluence?

    • BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field from an accredited university. Significant related work experience will be considered in place of a degree.
    • 5+ years of hands-on system level experience with the following technologies:
    • - Linux operating system experience for system administration, preferably using Ubuntu, Red Hat/Fedora or Debian.
    • - Physical and software defined networking.
    • - Modbus TCP & RTU Protocols.
    • Experience in Python and Bash.
    • Strong working knowledge and experience with Git SCM.
    • Experience with Agile development methodologies (Scrum).
    • Experience capturing day to day activities in JIRA.
    • Proven success on challenging projects where you made key contributions while demonstrating ownership, creativity, and initiative.
    • Familiarity with orchestration tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet is preferred.
    • Experience building or modifying Linux packaging and/or Linux kernel is a plus.
