This position will be within the Fluence Digital business unit, formed following Fluence’s acquisition of San Francisco-based start-up AMS. Fluence Digital’s IQ platform uses artificial intelligence, advanced price forecasting, portfolio optimization and market bidding to ensure energy storage and flexible generation assets are optimally participating in wholesale electricity markets.

Job Purpose:
Your primary responsibilities will be to: EMEA

This position will be home based in the United Kingdom and will report to the VP Fluence Digital Commerce EMEA.

We are seeking a Pre-Sales Engineering manager to grow and lead a very successful presales team across EMEA focused on serving the Renewable Energy industry. Solutions are SaaS base and focused on the optimisation of renewable energy assets.

Initially responsible for carrying out Sales Engineering functions in support of the EMEA sales organisation with a view to then hire, coach and lead the Sales Engineering team across
Work closely with customers to help them solve their problems using Fluence Digital’s
products and services.
Be a critical conduit between Fluence’s clients/targets and Fluence’s Sales, Marketing, Product Development and Technology teams to help all parties better understand the commercial Renewable Energy industry and the data, tools, and methods to solve industry problems.
Business travel may be up to 30% to provide in-person support with field sales initiatives
regionally and on occasion, globally.
The ideal candidate must have strong interpersonal skills as well as be organized, meticulous,
creative, and bring a desire to tackle challenges as an opportunity to develop new skills and
contribute to company objectives and growth.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
• Educate current and potential clients on the benefits of Fluence’s solutions as they relate to the Renewable Energy market.
• Work closely and collaboratively with Product Managers and Marketing to create and maintain sales collateral (e.g., presentations, proposals, sell sheets, training, RFP and other tender documents, etc.) that resonate with our customer and prospects.
• Assist sales calls remotely or in-person to help qualify opportunities and deliver product demonstrations and presentations.
• Train and support the coaching of the sales team ongoing in understanding Fluence’s solutions and in delivering excellent product demonstrations.
• Summarise customer’s technical perspective to assist Sales, Marketing, Product and Technology to understand the voice of the customer, the users’ perspectives, and the problems they seek to solve.




What does the ideal candidate bring to Fluence?

    • Minimum 3 years as a senior Sales Engineer at a previous technical presales organization
    • Work effectively across multiple leaders and departments
    • Familiarity with connecting and optimizing assets within a customer business.
    • Ability to convey complex matters in simple business-friendly terms.
    • Material desire and ability to assist customers and in solving their problems through use of Fluence Digital’s tools and data.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, especially in client-facing contexts - must be highly comfortable working with people across several organizations.
    • Experience in pre-sales or sales role, working collaboratively with Sales Teams, understanding the full sales life cycle and processes is a plus.
    • Must be an independent, highly motivated self-starter, naturally pro-active with great sense of
    • initiative.
    • MS Office expertise, including strong PowerPoint skills are a must.
    • Ability to understand SCADA, basic programming languages (Python and SQL) and IOT a plus.
