Role Description

The role of the Network Engineer will ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of our clients’ ICT environments. This role will make a significant contribution to the ICT Development Strategy that includes the implementation and development of all Voice and Data infrastructure and systems for Agilisys clients. The role will also deliver complex technical work on ICT Voice and Data infrastructure and systems in support of operational requirements as well as the implementation of new projects and technologies. The role also provides technical advice and recommendations on matters relating to ICT systems deployed by Agilisys.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Azure Infrastructure, LAN, WAN and WLAN Networks - Implementation, development, maintenance & support
  • Telephony – Internet based (Cloud), SIP - Implementation, development maintenance & support
  • Network and Perimeter Security - Implementation, development, maintenance & support
  • Voice & Data Specific advice, project and consultancy
  • Delivery of services provided in accordance with performance requirements and in line with resolution times against KPIs and SLAs
  • Provide appropriate responses to incidents, service requests and change requests
  • Managing customer expectations including feedback to and from customers
  • Own and ensure that system administration and status monitoring processes are maintained and followed
  • Develop and maintain routine maintenance processes and ensure that they are followed and completed on schedule
  • Maintain system records and high-quality documentation in accordance with Agilisys policies and processes
  • Updating, patching, and hardening of managed systems in accordance with policies and schedules
  • Liaising with external suppliers regarding faults, enhancements and all complex matters arising that may impact the service being offered to the client to ensure resolution within agree timescales

  • Own and ensure that system administration and status monitoring processes are maintained and followed
  • Perform all activities associated with the network infrastructure and Telecommunications services.
  • Responsible for technical hardware/software /cabling, bandwidth engineering, configuration planning, administration, and support of data and voice communications networks, including facilities planning. Work with the Technical lead, other teams, and call centres telephony and other departments to provide a stable and managed network infrastructure
  • Ensure national and industry standards are identified, followed and implementation are properly planned and managed.
  • Research and evaluate new tools and support software which may enhance the delivery of IT Voice and Data Infrastructure, develop effective working relationships with vendors, client and departmental technical groups to ensure all shared responsibilities are understood among all supporting technical personnel.
  • Establish manage and maintain successful relationship with third part service providers. To continually seek ways to improve service provided to the client by third parties.
  • Deal with matters relating to networking and development including TCP/IP network, security, firewall, and network, to take responsibility & ownership of the Voice and Data Network when making decision impacting loss of service to client environments.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and systems monitoring as defined by operating standards. Implementing new initiatives and future changes in service delivery, specifically related to corporate priority projects.
  • Identify utilisation patterns and their effect on operation/system availability and performance expectations, Investigate, recommend, and install enhancements and operating procedures that optimise network availability, Ensure timely user notification of maintenance requirements and effects on system availability.
  • Ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of corporate information assets and systems and, where appropriate, ensure preventative measures are undertaken to help mitigate risks

 

What we are looking for

We are looking to recruit an experienced Network Engineer to join a very established Managed Services team, so we need dynamic candidates that can work alone, as well as part of the team, ideally having extensive experience of complex voice and data network infrastructures.

The candidate will be based in our client offices in Clevedon, Bristol, providing support to our client base nationwide, with occasional travel to our other sites in London, North West and Kent where required. Additionally, the candidate should be confident and be able to articulate clearly when updating Management and Clients of issues and root causes.

This role also has a requirement for the holder to be/undertake security clearance, enabling support of Blue Light Services. (NPPv3/SC)
