We’re making electric vehicle ownership as smart and as simple as possible, by building the giant, virtual charging platform of the future.

In just over two years, Octopus Electroverse has grown to become one of the largest eMobility players in Europe, with over 650,000 connected electric vehicle chargers and a customer ecosystem spanning web, iOS, Android, CarPlay, Android Auto & Automotive OS, and more.

But it’s just the start: we’re busy launching in new countries, working with more automotive and tech partners, building exciting new features at scale, and creating the integrated charging experiences of the future - all in the name of making public EV charging super simple for customers.

Electroverse is a multifunctional team made up of product, development, commercial, operations, marketing, partnerships and more - all focused together on making Octopus the go-to name in EV charging. And we’re looking for smart individuals with an interest in the space who can help us make it happen.

We’re looking for someone who’s curious and eager to learn.

You’ll be working as part of the integration team which plays a key role in the Electroverse ecosystem.
This project will give you the chance to have a huge impact on the product and given our ambitions in the electrification space, influence how we scale with new opportunities and markets. You’ll work with a small, high-energy team to expand our product - an exciting opportunity to work like a start-up within a rapidly scaling EnTech business.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to ensure the smooth integration of our product with external systems. This role requires technical background, excellent problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills to deliver high-quality support in a timely manner. The integration process itself follows a well established and standardised technical specification which you’ll need to familiarise yourself with and master. You will need to be able to diagnose and troubleshoot integration issues, including API errors, data synchronisation issues, and compatibility issues. Occasionally you will need to escalate more complex issues to appropriate teams for further investigation and resolution in a clear and comprehensive way.

What you'll need...

    • The passion to create something amazing, and the mindset to learn and grow with the company.
    • An understanding of how RESTful APIs work, familiarity with lower level concepts of HTTP and JSON data types.
    • Ability to understand and master a technical specification for HTTP based integrations.
    • Analytical skills to read integration related data graphs and dashboards and pick out any potential issues.
    • Ability to explain technical problems clearly and comprehensively and communicate any issues to all stakeholders.
    • Inter-personal skills to assist external clients and resolve any issues with a positive attitude.
    • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimisation to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of integration support.

Nice to have...

    • Basic knowledge of SQL to supplement any integration insights if needed.
    • Basic Python knowledge and ability to read code. Writing code will not be part of the job however if you want to develop your skills in that area it’ll definitely be a bonus.
