Our first area of focus was to help managers with Shareholding Disclosure, a complex regulatory problem without a decent solution in the market. We were first to licence legal information from aosphere, an affiliate of Allen & Overy, which underpins some of our rule packages. Since that time, our product has become the undisputed market leader for the management of Shareholding Disclosure. We have also added new ground-breaking services - Sensitive Industries and Position Limits - and in 2020 introduced Rapportr to make reporting simple for our clients.

In 2018, we became a Certified B Corporation and in 2019 were recognised as a B Corp 'Best for the World' Honoree - highlighting our commitment to doing good by our people, the environment and the community. We've also won multiple accolades from organisations such as Wired, The Financial Technologist, World Economic Forum and Deloitte. What we're looking for

We are looking for a versatile DevOps Engineer that can work collaboratively and with a high level of autonomy to join the Rapptr Engine and Rules team. The Rapptr Engine and Rules team is responsible for the core pillar of the FundApps platform, making sure that the clients' position files are processed efficiently, reliably and accurately. As an engineer on this team, you will work on scaling the infrastructure and ensuring that the platform is able to handle data intensive applications efficiently and reliably.

The role

    • Mentoring. You’ll lead by example and share knowledge to help the team increase their skills, ability and confidence when working in production environments. You will have exemplary communication skills and be able to work across engineering teams.
    • Operations. Our customers are located in most global financial centres. We cover almost 100 jurisdictions. Meeting the availability demands and operability challenges will be part of your role. You will be expected to be available to support and diagnose critical issues outside of core hours (with additional compensation for this). You will have experience with debugging production issues and be well versed in incident management.
    • Security. Our customers have high standards, so our practices must measure up. You will be a security minded engineer that has an eye for detecting infrastructure risks and gaps in controls.
    • Infrastructure. Our stack is changing. We are moving away from a monolithic n-tier architecture towards a modern, cloud native approach using AWS services wherever possible. You will contribute to the design, build and operational management of highly scalable, secure and available infrastructure. We expect you to have experience working with a public cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP) and IaC (Infrastructure as Code). Experience working with data intensive applications and serverless is a plus.
    • DevOps. We continuously look into ways to deliver value to our customers at a faster pace. You will contribute to improve the company's ability to deliver applications and services at high velocity: evolving and improving products at a faster pace using tools and automation to continuously improve our software development/deployment and infrastructure management processes.

What you'll be working on

    • Evaluating and selecting appropriate technical solutions and seamlessly integrating them.
    • Building well architected cloud native infrastructure and tooling.
    • Mentoring and supporting the team to apply industry best practices for infrastructure, observability and security.
    • Identifying scalable optimisations to our infrastructure and systems to improve efficiency and performance.

£65,000 - £85,000 a year
