About the role:

As a Senior Mobile Software Engineer you will be the first mobile developer joining an agile Software Engineering team and will be supporting the delivery of mobile applications using Flutter. You will be working closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers, Delivery Managers and Designers .

  • First member in the team which is a great opportunity to shape the mobile dev team


Location: Hybrid working; a mix of working from our Bristol / London office & working remotely

Employment type: Permanent (please note, you must have the right to work in the UK)


What you’ll be doing at Elvie:

  • Develop and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Flutter code.
  • Port our existing App (iOS - Swift / Android - Kotlin) into Flutter.
  • Build mobile apps for bluetooth connected devices.
  • Stay up-to-date with Flutter and mobile app development best practices.
  • Ensure code is sensibly tested.
  • Suggest and manage performance metrics for our applications.
  • Suggest tool chain that ultimately will speed up product delivery.
  • Interact with product management and design team to translate requirements into our mobile apps.
  • Work closely with delivery management team to provide visibility
  • Assist in the development and execution of the QA process.
  • Write clear and detailed technical documentation.
  • Mentor more junior team members.
  • Educate the business on mobile app development.

Requirements

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as a mobile app developer (native and/or cross platform) with a strong portfolio of Flutter applications.
  • Confident in native (Swift / Kotlin)
  • In-depth understanding of the Flutter framework (state management)
  • Good understanding BLE protocol stack would be desirable
  • Experienced in using test framework for mobile app
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Clear communication and able to adapt to your audience.
  • Working cross team
  • Work independently

  • 30-minute video call with one of our recruiters
  • 45-60 minute video interview with the team (some positions may require you to complete a task/presentation)
  • 30-45 minute video call with the hiring manager
  • For some positions, there may be an additional interview with one of our senior leadership team
