Role Description
As a Senior Sales Manager for our ESG Data as a Service (DAAS) product, you'll play a pivotal role in propelling our growth. You'll lead a team of dynamic sales professionals, orchestrating prospecting, acquisition, contracting, and upselling. This role demands a comprehensive grasp of sustainability, a proven sales record, and exceptional leadership skills. Collaborating cross-functionally, you'll also drive strategic objectives in product development and adoption.

Objectives of the Role

    • Drive Revenue Excellence: Exceed sales targets, expand customer base, and nurture lasting relationships

Responsibilities

    • Strategic Sales Planning: Devise and implement sales strategies for market penetration and revenue acceleration
    • Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and mentor your sales team to achieve collective and individual targets
    • Client Relationships: Cultivate enduring relationships with clients, industry peers, and associations
    • Business Development: Identify and pursue new opportunities through networking, industry insights, and partnerships
    • Collaborative Marketing: Collaborate with marketing to create persuasive sales materials and presentations
    • Market Analysis: Stay current with industry trends and competitors, leveraging insights to drive strategies
    • Cross-functional Coordination: Liaise with product, analytics, customer success, and finance teams for seamless execution
    • Customer Satisfaction: Ensure delivery of solutions, address needs, and promptly resolve issues
    • Insights and Reporting: Provide leadership with accurate forecasts, performance reports, and actionable insights
    • Process Refinement: Contribute to enhancing sales processes, tools, and methodologies for efficiency and scalability
    • Industry Representation: Participate in conferences, events, and thought leadership activities, bolstering brand visibility
    • Pricing and Pipeline Management: Collaborate with finance on pricing strategies, contract negotiation, and revenue forecasting

Required Skills and Qualifications

    • Sales Expertise: Over a decade of B2B sales experience, preferably in sustainability, data, or technology
    • Sales Excellence: Consistent track record of surpassing targets and driving revenue growth
    • Leadership Proficiency: Strong team management and development skills across functional domains
    • Sustainability Acumen: Deep understanding of sustainability principles, ESG reporting, and environmental challenges
    • Effective Communication: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, translating complex concepts into clarity
    • Strategic Insight: Astute market acumen, translating insights into actionable sales strategies
    • Problem-Solving: Proven ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions
    • Self-motivation: Initiative, autonomy, and adaptability within a fast-paced, cross-functional setting
    • CRM Proficiency: Mastery of CRM software and sales productivity tools
    • Data Literacy: Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI, and data visualization

Preferred Qualifications

    • Advanced Education: MBA or Master's degree in finance, analytics, or sustainability

Prior Experience

    • Successfully led sales teams for over 8 years, including roles in a senior leadership capacity
    • Demonstrated history of driving sales and revenue growth in the ESG data and sustainability solutions industry
    • Proven track record of cultivating strong client relationships and managing complex sales cycles
    • Depth of understanding in ESG principles, with a history of effectively articulating the value of impact-based metrics to clients
