As part of the Strategy team, reporting to the Strategy Lead, youā€™ll play a key role in bringing exciting ideas and ā€˜big betā€™ opportunities to life, such as launching into new international markets, sales channels, product categories and more. Alongside this, youā€™ll help make sure we bring the highest quality to everything we do at Butternut, to allow us to continue to scale over the years and decades ahead. Weā€™re building a multi-generational business and this role will be pivotal to making that happen.

We're looking for a self starter with extremely high attention to detail, an organisational powerhouse, whoĀ is able to influence and motivate a variety of teams each with varying priorities. You'll have ownership of your projects from the very beginning and will be responsible for managing them until they're integrated into the wider business. Youā€™ll play a key role in making judgements and the freedom to continually question and optimise the way that we do things, to help us always strive for better.

In this role, you can expect to:

Run projects throughout their lifecycle, manage stakeholders and drive reporting (60%)

  • Manage multiple projects at once from kick-off to launch, identifying interdependencies and risks.
  • Ensure the long term ambitions of Butternut are being prioritised in decision making throughout a project.
  • Champion and celebrate the wins of your peers in the project teams, keeping everyone engaged and excited about projectsĀ (helping dogs live happier and healthy lives is exciting)Ā šŸ™Œ.
  • Manage day-to-day action tracking and reporting.
  • Facilitate the necessary project meetings and working sessions to keep everyone aligned.
  • Manage and present company-wide communication on major project milestones such as country launches.
  • Prepare key company and Board reporting, on topics such as progress towards our company Strategy and goals for the year.

Own and drive process optimisation (20%)

  • Design and codify delivery playbooks, templates and tools to support ā€˜best practiceā€™ project execution for Butternut globally.
  • Seek ways to improve on our company operating processes and rhythm, helping us to run more efficiently and stay on track towards company goals.
  • Ensure that resourcesĀ (ie. time, people, budget)Ā are managed efficiently whilst keeping quality, our customers and the brand a priority.

Solve problems on complex topics (20%)

  • Partner up with teams across the business to solve discrete, complex problems and deliver refined and well executed solutions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the business, offering high conviction recommendations supported by analysis.
  • Support in scope and building out the longer-term Strategy roadmaps and timelines, actively seeking out the next big thing for Butternut.

šŸ‘‹Ā Ā A bit about you.

    • Experienced and assured in your abilities (must have 4+ years of experience in a similar strategic project management role).
    • Relevant experience managing multiple high visibility cross-functional projects (simultaneously) from start to finish - this could be internally or in a client facing role.
    • Holds high standards for operational excellence and makes things happen.
    • Excellent communication skills - ability to present information and stakeholder expectations succinctly and clearly, in the best way to suit and influence your audience.
    • A highly analytical problem-solver - not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get stuck into a complex question.
    • Excellent at managing stakeholders, including Senior Leadership - demonstrated ability to work with a variety of teams with different ways of workingĀ (such as Brand & Creative, Marketing, Product Development, Procurement & Supply Chain, Digital Product, Technical, Ops.)
    • A good understanding of commercial and financial KPIs, ideally in a DTC setting, and the impact actions may have on them.
    • Highly skilled at Excel, Google Sheets, Google Slides / Powerpoint and project management tools required to build out timelines and track tasks and actions.
    • Share our belief that dogs deserve better
    • Ideally, holding a Project Management qualification - Prince2, Agile PM, APMP, PMI or similar. However, for the right person Butternut would sponsor this.
