The role

We are looking for a Segment Commercial Manager to define the go-to-market strategy for our target segments and to ensure its successful execution with markets, as well as global functions such as product, marketing and global operations teams. The starting segment is Small and Medium size businesses (SMB) to include tiers 2.5, 3 and 4.  

Located in London or Paris, you will join the Global Commercial team and be reporting to the Global Partnerships manager

- Segment growth & profitability vs. business plan
- Customer satisfaction (cNPS) as a strategic objective
- Capability improvements & innovations to drive quality and efficiency gains within the sales operating model

What will you be doing? 🤓

    • Define preferred sub-segments via a top-down approach with the support of the Strategy Team, and bottom up approach thanks to the learnings from marketing, data analytics & local commercial results
    • Define our unique selling proposition (why, what, how), package different offers depending on markets, segments and opportunities, build sales & marketing collateral including playbooks and training materials with the support of Marketing & Enablement
    • Establish a pricing approach for the SMB segment strategy with clear recommendations to markets, with the support of the Value Creation team (what pricing for which type of client /partner, what mechanisms to better engage clients and drive volume, what ancillaries, pricing of instant vs scheduled, what conditions to switch from standard pricing to custom pricing..)
    • Design the ideal commercial journey, aligned to marketing functional strategy, including First contact, Onboarding, first weeks of activity, upsell actions, a suitable strategy to ensure retention
    • Control and ensure we have a good quality of flow with key partners (aggregators, DMS, TMS) with the support of Partnerships and CSE. You will also provide support to the accountable functions with the implementation
    • Agree with the local Commercial accountable person the required marketing sourced SQLs and marketing team on setting the appropriate targets with selected channels (paid, SEO..)
    • Make recommendations in budget allocation (paid marketing channels vs SEO vs SDR outbound..)
    • Make sure all central teams capture customer needs and competitive information through a local commercial feedback process
    • Stay up to date with industry best practices and emerging trends in the SMB market, sharing knowledge and insights with the team by meeting experts, reading /listening content, attending industry events

What do we need from you? 😎

    • 5+ years of experience in Commercial Strategy, Consulting, or in program management
    • Experience in the Food, Grocery or Logistics sector is a strong plus!
    • You are results-oriented and focused on maximising your impact at the fastest possible rate
    • Creative thinking - problem-solving comes naturally and you view constraints as challenges to be overcome rather than limitations to success
    • You know how to work with analytics teams to get meaningful insights out of large sets of data and can communicate your findings concisely
    • Be hands-on with clients and build trusting relationships with them
    • You are comfortable with hypothesis-driven analysis – but you are open-minded and willing to accept that your initial hypothesis was wrong if your findings do not support it
    • Experienced and enthusiastic about setting goals, guiding cross-functional teams, and supporting partners to deliver their goals on time and on quality
    • Curiosity: you are eager to learn what clients and couriers need and how those needs fit with Stuart’s mission of logistics for a sustainable world 🌱
