Who we are
Numan is on a mission to make men healthier. We provide healthcare as men need it, and treat common health conditions with personalised plans that alleviate symptoms and fix root causes. We offer integrated care - including diagnostics, medication & supplements, 1-1 clinical care, and digital programs - in one digital platform, to help patients take control of their health.

Founded in 2018, we’re backed by top-tier investors and have already impacted the lives of hundreds of thousands of patients in the UK, and have created a category leading brand. We have ambitious plans and are expanding the team with talented people who are as excited about the mission as we are.

At Numan, tens of thousands of people trust us with their data. Our success depends on us keeping that trust so we’re looking for a Head of Information Security to help us ensure the security and privacy of our patients' data.

You’ll lead the teams in developing and implementing the right Security Strategy, policies and procedures that ensures our patients’ data is secure, while also allowing us to be nimble, and to move at pace.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about information security and can help us continue to innovate in the healthcare industry. You will be part of a fast-paced, digital healthcare company and you’ll have the opportunity to grow into a leadership role here at Numan.

Who you are:

    • You’re an enthusiastic, highly-collaborative leader who thrives in a fast-paced, iterative environment
    • You’re an excellent communicator who can help engineers, teams and the wider business understand the security/usability tradeoff, and why it’s important to be secure.
    • You’re motivated to create a security-conscious organisation that continues to be dynamic and nimble.
    • You’re experienced in identifying and implementing security policies that are the best fit for the given size/shape of the company (an understanding of standards such as ISO27001 and CyberEssentials Plus would be great).
    • You’re experienced and knowledgeable in security principles and best practices for cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, GCP, including Kubernetes and with complex flows of sensitive information.
    • You have experience managing security incidents and conducting incident response and investigation.

What the job involves:

    • Working with the technical and wider leadership teams to cultivate a security-conscious organisation
    • Crafting and implementing an Information Security strategy that tightly aligns with our business strategy.
    • Cultivating the right-sized secure practices, policies and processes to ensure we manage our risks the best we can and keep our patients data safe and secure.
    • Collaborating closely with our technical leadership team to embed the security mindset in our teams (including topics such as encryption, network security, vulnerability management)
    • Managing security incidents and conduct incident response and investigation as needed

What we can offer you:

    • A competitive salary, 25 days holiday + bank holidays and pension contribution.
    • Hybrid working with a mix of remote and office based.
    • Dog friendly office.
    • Health benefits with HealthShield. This is a health cash plan paid for by the company. It also includes 24/7 counselling support, EAP programme, 24/7 GP access, access to wellbeing app Thrive and further discounts on fashion, holidays, entertainment, car hire, health and beauty and your weekly shop via the reward platform MyPerks.

    • Annual Learnerbly budget - Books, online subscriptions and budget for workshops and conferences.
    • Option to have a stake in our growing business.
    • Cycle to work scheme and secure cycle area to keep your bike safe.
    • Discount to our Numan products (also for family and friends).
    • Free eye test.

    • We are an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status.
