Description

Following the successful launch of our groundbreaking satellite (HOTSAT-1) and the successful close of our highly anticipated A2 funding round, SatVu, a pioneering space technology company, is actively seeking an exceptional and visionary Head of Marketing. We are looking for an individual who possesses an unwavering ambition and unique capabilities to spearhead and elevate our marketing function as we embark on an exciting journey of rapid expansion and growth. As a critical member of our leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, this role will take charge of driving all aspects of marketing and communication activities at SatVu.


The Head of Marketing will have the opportunity to lead and shape the full spectrum of our marketing efforts, including strategic public relations, impactful communications, brand development, digital channel optimisation, product marketing, event management, and lead generation initiatives. This pivotal role demands agility, resourcefulness, and the ability to effectively collaborate with external partners, agencies, as well as internal cross-functional teams. Operating within a demanding and fast-paced scale-up environment, the successful candidate must thrive in such conditions, drawing inspiration from the challenges and opportunities they present.

An essential facet of this role lies in the ability to translate our innovative technical capabilities in space technology into compelling, coherent, and persuasive messaging that resonates with our customers, investors, and employees. Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies that align with our business objectives, targeting both B2B and B2G segments in our target verticals.
  • Define marketing goals, budgets, and timelines, and regularly evaluate and adjust strategies to maximise results.

Branding and Positioning:

  • Maintain a strong brand identity: ensure consistent messaging and visual representation across all marketing channels; develop our internal branding to support the recruitment and retention of top talent.
  • Position our firm as a thought leader and innovator in the space tech industry through effective storytelling and content marketing.

Digital Marketing:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and optimization of digital marketing campaigns, including SEO/SEM, social media, and email marketing.
  • Utilize data analytics and market insights to measure campaign effectiveness and make data-driven decisions to enhance performance.

Product Marketing:

  • Collaborate with the product development team to understand our products and translate technical features into compelling customer benefits.
  • Collaborate with Sales to develop product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies to drive product adoption and revenue growth.

Public Relations and Communications:

  • Coordinate and manage activity with our PR agency to foster relationships with media outlets, industry influencers, and relevant stakeholders to secure media coverage and build strategic partnerships.
  • Write and edit compelling press releases, articles, and other content to effectively communicate SatVu’s achievements, milestones, and key initiatives.

Event Management

  • Manage the conference and events budget to maximise ROI though brand awareness and lead generation.
  • Support the sales team with event planning & coordination; represent SatVu at key events in person; lead the planning and execution of SatVu’s hosted event programme.

Team Leadership and Collaboration:

  • Develop and execute a plan to scale the marketing function to support the growth of the business. Hire, lead, and mentor the marketing team, providing guidance, setting performance targets, and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, product development, and executive leadership, to align marketing efforts with overall business goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in marketing, preferably in the space tech industry or a related technology sector serving one or more of our focus market verticals.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that drive business growth.
  • Proficiency in digital marketing platforms, analytics tools, and marketing automation software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team towards achieving goals. Experience of scaling a team.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative marketing initiatives.
  • Exceptional organisational and project management abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Desire to and work in a fast-paced and dynamic start-up environment

Interview Process:

  • Call with our Talent team to discuss the role and learn more about you and your requirements (30 minutes)
  • Call with COO to discuss the role and your experience in more detail (45 minutes)
  • Presentation to Sales Director, Head of Product & CCO (1 hour)
  • Final interview with CEO & CTO (30-45 minutes)
