The role

We are looking for an exceptional Marketing Executive to join the Communications and Marketing team.

You’ll have the opportunity to hone the marketing skills you have already developed, as well as work alongside experienced marketing managers to learn even more.

You will be responsible for researching and producing content for a range of different channels including blogs, newsletters, emails, surveys, adverts, and social media. You will be passionate about understanding audiences and love monitoring the success of marketing activities.

Reporting to the Senior Marketing Manager, you will also work closely with the Social Media Manager. This will include researching, drafting, and scheduling organic posts, as well as planning and reporting on paid social media campaigns.

An enthusiastic team player, you will be highly collaborative and personable. You’ll enjoy working across numerous projects and teams. You’ll also need great communication skills; a confident, friendly writing style; and an eye for detail.

We strive to make the Foundation a place where talented people who care about our mission can do the best work of their careers. If you’re the right person for the job, we’ll make it work for you, and you can be confident that you’ll be working with an exceptional team.

Responsibilities

  • Support the effective planning and implementation of marketing campaigns
  • Write and publish content across multiple channels that resonates with our audiences
  • Work with the Social Media Manager to run broadcast and engagement activities on key social media channels — including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn — ensuring our tone of voice is tailored to our audience
  • Research and expand our Google Ads campaigns to ensure they reach our target audience, testing and measuring results
  • Develop and maintain a list of potential partnership and press contacts, and organise the distribution of press releases
  • Take ownership of our email newsletters, looking for opportunities to expand the audience, collating content, and managing timely delivery and execution using our CRM tools, Salesforce, and Pardot
  • Brief our in-house design team to develop creative content, including videos and other digital assets, to set deadlines
  • Monitor and report on campaign activities using analytics software
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders — both internal and external
  • Work with the team to protect our brands by ensuring all communications are high-quality and consistent

Experience and personal attributes

We recognise that everyone has the potential for growth, and we welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate that they have some, but not all, of the experience and personal attributes listed here:

  • Previous marketing experience in at least one other organisation
  • Marketing qualifications either at degree level or accreditation from the CIM
  • Copywriting skills (short and medium form)
  • A good understanding of content marketing
  • Social media management and paid-for campaign creation using software such as Hootsuite
  • Reporting using analytics software such as Google Analytics
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate your thinking and to take feedback on board
  • A self-starter attitude and the ability to see the bigger picture

About Us

The Raspberry Pi Foundation is a UK-based educational charity with the mission to enable young people to realise their full potential through the power of computing and digital technologies.

Established in 2008 and first known for our product — the wildly successful Raspberry Pi computer — the Foundation has developed education programmes, learning experiences, and products that are helping millions of young people learn vital new knowledge and skills.

Through Code Club and CoderDojo, we support the world’s largest network of free informal computing clubs for young people. Tens of thousands of educators have taken our online courses, and millions of people use our free online learning resources. To deepen our understanding of how young people learn about computing and how to create with digital technologies, we conduct academic research, and we use that knowledge to increase the impact of our work and advance the field of computing education.

Across all of our work, we work hard to engage young people who come from backgrounds that are traditionally underrepresented in the field of computing or who experience educational disadvantage. We work all over the world, with teams based in the UK, Ireland, North America, and India, and partnerships with mission-aligned organisations in over 40 countries.

We are at the forefront of the global movement to help young people learn about computing and digital making. You can read more about our mission, values, and goals in our Annual Review 2021 and our Strategy 2022–2025.
