Reports to: VP of Engineering

Location: Hybrid - Newmarket - 1 day on-site per week

Hours: 32 hours across a 4-day week (no salary sacrifice)

Salary: £25,000 - £35,000

Job snapshot:

We’re looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join our growing and talented engineering team to help us build the future of Wonde.

As an Associate Software Engineer, you will work closely with the Senior Engineers and the wider Engineering team to support business objectives. You will have exposure to a variety of tools and technologies and be heavily supported in your career as a Software Engineer.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide Technical API support to our customers
  • Work closely with senior engineers on features and releases
  • Support the maintenance of our infrastructure and codebase to provide customers with a great experience
  • Test new features
  • Contributing to the design and implementation of new and existing software
  • Contribute to the common code bases and standards for your team

Requirements

What we’re hoping you’ll have:

  • 8-12 months experience in an engineering-focused environment
  • Experience with PHP and Laravel (a nice to have)
  • The ability to solve problems and implement relevant bug fixes
  • The capabilities and desire to work in an evolving environment and industry
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills paired with an innovative mindset
  • Self-starter attitude, taking ownership and driving forward the work to completion
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and to interact efficiently with others

Technologies we use:

● PHP with Laravel (our language and framework of choice)

● MySQL databases (really big and globally distributed ones)

● Amazon Web Services (from RDS to Lamda, we love tech!)

● Laravel Livewire, Filament, Tailwind.css, Vue.js and similar Javascript
