Twinkl is looking for its first dedicated Statistician to join our established analytics network of 20+ data scientists and data analysts during an exciting period of growth. Working closely with both the data and CRO teams, you will be at the forefront of how data is used for decision-making at Twinkl; ensuring that we derive the maximum value possible from our rich and varied datasets (over 10 trillion data points at the last count!).

As a Graduate Statistician, you will be responsible for ensuring the statistical integrity of our AB tests (1000 ran during the past year!), analysing critical survey data to support pricing and product decisions, and evaluating the relationship between key operational inputs and business outcomes. Your role will involve conducting thorough statistical analysis, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing actionable insights to drive data-informed decision-making.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the statistical rigour of AB tests, developing a robust strategy for significance determination, analysing test results, and providing insights to stakeholders.
  • Analyse critical survey data to inform pricing and product decisions, applying statistical techniques and collaborating with relevant teams to translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Work in collaboration with the Weekly Business Review (WBR) team to determine the causal relationships between key operational inputs and business outcomes, accounting for seasonality and a multitude of other factors.
  • Develop statistical models to forecast business performance, considering relevant variables and external factors, to provide accurate predictions and actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, communicate statistical findings effectively to non-technical stakeholders, and prepare clear reports, visualisations, and presentations to present findings and recommendations.

  • Have a strong analytical mindset and relentless attention to detail.
  • Have the ability to see projects through from conception to delivery, bringing actionable insight to bear.
  • Have the ability to break down complex problems into manageable parts that can be actioned step by step.
  • Have excellent communication skills, including being able to explain complicated concepts in layman’s terms.
  • Be able to identify viable business opportunities that can be actioned using data
  • Have the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Have strong organisational skills, and be able to prioritise among multiple good projects competing for your attentio

Requirements

We're interested in anyone who meets the following criteria:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical concepts and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as R or Python.
  • Experience with experiment design and AB testing.
  • Familiarity with survey analysis and statistical modelling.
