The role: Assistant Project Manager

We're looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our Partnerships team as an Assistant Project Manager.

The successful candidate must be passionate about education and tackling educational disadvantage by providing access opportunities to learners in Wales through supporting various projects for Welsh Government.

The successful candidate will support and assist our Senior Associates & Senior Project Managers within our Partnerships team and from time-to-time our Professional Learning & eLearning Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Project planning and management, reporting, managing and mitigating risks, and liaising with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Contributing to the coordination and delivery of our international partnership projects (e.g the MIT Global Teaching Labs in Wales initiative).
  • Deputising for the relevant Senior Project Manager in liaising and engaging with the project stakeholders and delivery partners where necessary.
  • Organising and executing collaborative events including information sessions, speaker series talks and celebratory events.
  • Promoting impactful opportunities for learners to schools & colleges through a variety of channels.
  • Working with partners to recruit, vet, onboard and train cohorts of instructors. This includes maintaining all safer recruitment procedures and coordinating with all schools, colleges, student-instructors and university partners.
  • Supporting the wider team on partnership programmes to widen HE access and improve STEM education

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent qualifications, or experience
  • Experienced in working in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Highly organised
  • Confident IT user
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise work to meet deadlines and targets

  • Salary: £25,000-28,000 (dependent on experience)
