In realising this ambition, the Connected Places Catapult has established 3Ci – cities commission for climate investment alongside our core partners at Core Cities and London Councils. 3Ci is attracting national and international interest as a mechanism and model to drive low carbon investment in cities. In achieving this 3Ci seeks to; support UK cities in achieving their Net Zero ambitions, attract and unlock private and public finance, and seize the opportunity to stimulate growth in green jobs and business.

Purpose of the role

3Ci is looking for a multi-faceted B2B and B2G marcoms specialist with broad based experience in developing strategy and delivering core messages across social and digital media. The main purpose of the role will be to increase awareness in 3Ci across public and private sector organisations, drive increased engagement to help support the organisation's objectives.

The role will be responsible for creating the communications strategy and defining, managing, and implementing the tactical communications plan. The role-holder will liaise and network with key partners and stakeholders including officials from across our member organisations (Core Cities, London Councils, Key Cities, Scottish Cities Alliance and M10 Mayoral Leadership Group) as well as, government departments, financial institutions, trade bodies and industry.

This role sits within Connected Places Catapult's marketing team, with dotted line reporting to the 3Ci leadership team.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating the 3Ci communications strategy and tactical plan.
  • Responsible for managing content and comms within digital platforms (incl. websites and social media channels) - ensuring growth in visitors and followers.
  • Strengthening the brand and identity of 3Ci and its respective work programmes.
  • Accountable for reporting on marketing impact to the 3Ci team, wider marketing team and Executive Leadership Team/CLT.
  • Curation and development of content across all communications platforms (Including website, social, email).
  • Responsible for planning and implementing wider communication programmes to grow the respective communities, including PR, industry third party events and internal events, online promotion and social media.
  • Responsible for providing strategic input and direction into events and sponsorship programmes with respect of 3Ci, working with the Events team to plan and deliver 3Ci events including working with Commercial Partnerships Manager to deliver sponsorship revenue for the events.
  • Develop marketing campaigns for membership and sponsorship work with Executive Director of Marketing & Public Affairs.
  • Developing relationships with key partners and stakeholders, including those on the Advisory Board and Steering Group as well as external stakeholders.
